| Background (Profile) |
Sherry Viktora, Senior Instructor for PMC Connection, brings her love of nature and gardening to her art. Her enthusiasm for sharing and teaching are strong skills which she brings to her work. Sherry, a critical care nurse, holds a BS in management. She developed her teaching style and philosophy through a long and successful nursing career, which included developing and managing 3 new critical care departments and being a flight nurse with the first hospital-based helicopter program in Ill. During her tenure in nursing, Sherry, began her work with stained and fused glass as a creative outlet and stress reliever. An introductory class in PMC, several years later, was the catalyst for change in her life and career. The organic nature of metal clay, along with its versatility, was ideal for her expression. Sherry often combines metal clay with glass and organic materials to create unique work. After receiving her Level I and II PMCC Certifications, Art Clay Level I Instructor Certification and teaching PMC and glass in the Midwest, Sherry retired from nursing to become a Senior Instructor. She now teaches and works in her home studio and other locations throughout the country. Sherry's work has been published in national art and jewelry magazines. |
