| Background (Profile) |
My art background stems back to birth! The daughter and granddaughter of an avid crafters, TV was discouraged while arts were encouraged. As an art major in high school I was exposed to both traditional and contemporary art styles, finding a passion for photography. I my made first piece of Sterling Silver jewelry in college in 1974 and have not stopped making jewelry or taking images since my teens. My first foray into PMC was in 2002. After much experimenting, rather successfully, I took my first Certification through the PMC Guild in March of 2003. Two weeks later came a crossover class, with Sondra Bush, then a Level Two in the mountains with Ken and Mary Ann. I have been a Senior Instructor PMC Connection since November of 2003. |
| What I like about PMC | I love this medium! My traditional metal smithing skills come in very handy for finish but other wise the freedom afforded by PMC is phenomenal. I love creating a variety of textures in one piece. I can keep my more classic style with added pizazz. |
| Specialty Skill (PMC Technique) |
My favorite technique with PMC is using PMC3 paste on paper or cloth. The finished project is always different and always intriguing. My other favorite is creating designs using coiled snakes. Classic yet contemporary, I love it ! |
| Teaching Area | I will teach anywhere! As a retired flight attendant, "Have passport will travel"! My home base is my 1200 square foot studio in Keller, TX. Keller is just 15 miles NW of DFW airport. I teach introductory, specialty and Certification Workshops as well as classes in photography. |
| Specialty Skill (Non-PMC Technique) |
The recipient of the coveted Photographic Craftsman Degree from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), I have been honored with numerous awards for both my photographic images and my teaching skills. I have a job that gives me the best of both of my artistic passions, making jewelry and photographing it! |
