Carol Hamilton is one of our PMC Seniors and is located in Springfield,
Virginia. For almost thirty years, Carol has applied her unique creativity
to many varied activities, including lithography, balloon design, weaving
and spinning, stained and fused glass design, jewelry, beading, polymer
clay and pottery (among many others).
One of her fused glass pieces was recently published in “The knitter’s
guild to Yarn Cocktails.
After dabbling for so long with many different crafts, PMC has allowed me to blend my many interests into the creative flexibility afforded by this media. It challenges my artistic creativity and allows for incorporation of other areas of interest, like the study of natures natural forms and Victorian designs.
My personal work with PMC employs established and experimental techniques to incorporate the shapes found in nature and in Victorian era designs to my jewelry designs. I love using the mysterious and intriguing color purple, often associated with nobility and spirituality. Using that color allows me to blend this mixture of hot red and cool blue shades to boost the imagination and stimulate artistic creativity.
